While combining Log Cabin and Pinwheel block designs, an interesting secondary pattern emergd. When the Log Cabin blocks are colored in a certain way, a shadow effect is created. When I saw the shaow, I knew at once this quilt had to be made in soft blues and greens—it whispers tranquility.
